Creative Director, Brand Experience

Something Special Studios is looking for a Creative Director, Brand Experience to spearhead the creative vision, visual storytelling, and execution of 360° brand activations, integrated campaigns, and content-driven experiences. This creative leader will develop culturally resonant and visually compelling concepts and translate them into brand experiences across physical, digital, and social platforms—all while upholding the highest standards of design and creative integrity.
As a hands-on leader, the CD will guide multidisciplinary creative teams—including designers, art directors, and collaborators from ideation to execution. They have strong skills in concept development, visual world-building, and storytelling to craft cross-platform brand expression, with a focus on experiential and integrated activations.
The CD will collaborate closely with creative strategy, production, spatial and visual design teams to accurately scope and plan internal and client projects, ensuring seamless execution and consistent creative excellence across all touchpoints.
Responsibilities
Develop innovative concepts, high-fidelity visual design, and a consistent brand narrative across agency and client work.
Lead end-to-end creative development, driving ideation and execution across physical, digital, and content-driven platforms.
Partner with strategy, production, and multidisciplinary design teams to scope and plan projects, ensuring feasibility and creative alignment.
Assemble mood boards, swipes, and mock ups that illustrate the aesthetic and creative direction.
Offer clear, actionable creative direction to multidisciplinary design teams, art directors, content creators, and creative collaborators.
Craft and present creative proposals, pitch decks, and client presentations, securing buy-in and driving creative vision forward.
Foster a culture of innovation and creative excellence, mentoring creative teams and building strong interdisciplinary collaborations.
Advocate for process improvements and optimizing creative workflows.
Ensure creative work is culturally relevant, disruptive, and forward-thinking.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in a creative agency preferred or in-house brand creative team, specializing in brand activations, experiential marketing, and integrated production.
A strong portfolio showcasing immersive brand experiences, high-fidelity design work and aesthetics, and large-scale creative executions.
Expertise in art direction, 360° brand storytelling, and experience with directing environmental design for live events and interactive brand moments.
Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing creative teams, developing talent, and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
Experience building and scaling creative teams, with a strong network of creative collaborators.
Strong experience in pitching, creative proposals, pitch decks, and developing visual narratives.
Excellent presentation, verbal, and visual and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate with fabricators, vendors, and production partners, ensuring execution aligns with creative integrity.
Thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments and excels at managing multiple concurrent projects.
Deep knowledge and passion for art, design, culture, and emerging creative trends.
Salary Range: $165,000 - $220,000 annually. Salary for the prospective employee is determined by a combination of factors that include qualifications, applicable skills, relevant experience and other budgetary considerations such as location/geography.

Art Director
Full-Time (NYC Preferred or Los Angeles) or Freelance (Remote)
The Art Director at Something Special Studios will oversee the visual direction and execution of brand campaigns, digital content, and integrated production. The AD is a high visual creative lead with a strong design foundation and experience creating compelling and culturally relevant work across integrated and experiential touchpoints. The AD will also play a hands-on role in creative production and on-set direction. They have strong design instincts and aesthetics, and ability to take projects from concept through execution–leading art direction, building out visual worlds, and ensuring every detail feels thoughtful, cohesive, and on-brand.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize and execute culturally-relevant campaign concepts and visual storytelling across digital, social, print, and content-driven platforms.
Lead key art direction for photo and video treatments, including development of mood boards, swipes, and creative treatments that bring brand narratives to life.
Art direct and oversee shoots, ensuring the creative vision is realized in photography, motion, and content production.
Assemble a library of creative references, including imagery, color palettes, typography, and other visual elements that will inform the overall art direction.
Develop key visuals and art direction guidelines for various creative mediums.
Partner with strategy, production, and design teams to scope and plan projects, ensuring feasibility and alignment with creative vision.
Develop and present creative proposals, pitch decks, and client presentations.
Manage a strong creative network to source and collaborate with photographers, videographers, stylists, set designers, prop stylists, editors, and other creative collaborators.

Qualifications
6+ years of experience in a creative agency or in-house setting, with a strong focus on campaign and content development.
A portfolio showcasing strong art direction, storytelling, and high-fidelity integrated production.
Proven experience leading photo/video direction, including pre-production and on-set execution.
High proficiency in graphic design, with strong design instincts and skills of layout, branding, and
Experienced in developing pitch decks and creative proposals, and presenting work to both internal teams and clients.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to sell and articulate ideas persuasively.
Experience building creative teams, with a strong network of creative and production collaborators.

Senior Graphic Designer

The Senior Graphic Designer will contribute their expertise in branding, typography, and art direction to develop innovative design solutions for both agency and client projects. In this role, the Senior Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with creative leadership to conceptualize and execute high-quality designs across various mediums. Graphic Designer

Spatial Design Lead

The Spatial Design Lead will drive the creative vision for immersive environments that connect people with brands. The ideal Spatial Design Lead candidate will be responsible for developing and refining spatial concepts, creating impactful 2D/3D visuals, and overseeing technical execution, including detailed drawings and material selection. Spatial Designer

The Spatial Designer is a creative problem-solver with a strong visual sensibility and technical expertise, bringing conceptual ideas to life through detailed design schematics and technical drawings. In this role, the Spatial Designer will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to develop and execute immersive spatial experiences. From ideation to fabrication, the Spatial Designer will be responsible for ensuring that all design assets meet project specifications and align with creative intent. Responsibilities:
Participate in concepting and creative brainstorming sessions

Senior Producer

This Senior Producer will manage internal teams and vendor partners, lead client communications, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality.
